News from the Board

Welcoming our new Board Member!

Please join us in welcoming one of our existing volunteers, Nicola Connor, who recently accepted our invitation to join our Board as a Trustee Director. Nicola has been a volunteer with her dog, Therapet® Star, a Keeshond, since January 2024. They are based in Stirlingshire and have visited Burnbrae Care Home, Bellsdyke Hospital mental health wards, Falkirk College, University of Stirling, Falkirk Fire Station, Grangemouth Police Station, Falkirk Forensic Mental Health team and NHS Labour Ward staff for ‘PAWS Against Stress’® events.

Nicola has a background in banking, business and administration and her skills and experience will be an asset to us both now and in the future.

Annual Report & Accounts 2024

At our April meeting, our Annual Report & Accounts were approved by the Board and duly signed off and submitted to OSCR, the Scottish Charity Regulator. These are available to view on our website on the ‘Latest’ page. For those that are interested, it contains information on membership figures and examples of work undertaken last year.

Policy Review

The CEO reviewed our ‘Policy on Protecting Vulnerable People’ in line with the changes to the Disclosure Act (Scotland) 2020 and to be more specific in the area of Safeguarding. The Board approved changes to this which will be updated in the next version of our handbook.
